About Zhuhai Championships
The Zhuhai Championships is a professional men’s tennis tournament held annually on the outdoor hard courts of the Hengqin International Tennis Center in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China.
The Zhuhai Championships was launched in 2016, as a part of the ATP Challenger Tour. But in 2019, the tournament was upgraded to the ATP 250, and it became part of the Chinese Series. However, the tournament was not held in 2020-2022, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur is the first champion in the tournament history, he won the tournament in 2019, after defeating Adrian Mannarino in the final.
Zhuhai Championships History
The Zhuhai Championships, an ATP 250 tournament, was started in 2016, as a part of the ATP Challenger Tour. But in 2019, it was upgraded to the ATP 250, and it became part of Asian swing.
In 2019, Alex de Minaur became the first singles champion in the event's history, he defeated Adrian Mannarino, 7–6(4), 6–4, in the final.
Belgian pair, Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen, were the first doubles champions in the tournament’s history, as they defeated Marcelo Demoliner and Matwé Middelkoop in the final.
